  6. Heres an interesting stat from another Steeler site: In the last 15 years we have averaged under 4 yards per carry only 3 years: 2008, 2003 and, wait for this one, 1995. This year we are averaging 3.6 ypc and in 1995 it was 3.7 ypc. In 2006 we averaged more ypc (4.2) than in 2005 (4.0). I dunnois having a running game overrated?

  28. Jack and Maureen ~ just wondering about grand gestures. What do you think would be advantages / disadvantages of just one highly focused day over a whole week? Jack, why is Equity Week every other year and not every year? I’m involved in local event organizing and learned the hard way years ago that an every other year event just doesn’t build a body of regular followers the same way every-year-on-the-same-day (date or day of the year, i.e. 3rd Wednesday in April)

  29. Deep thinking – adds a new dimension to it all.

  48. Steve, I LOVE the way you think. Nut I will go ahead and say the one thing you left out (I’m guessing you did this not to piss-off aynnoe). Wood workers are human, and like all humans, are basically lazy. That is why the powertool was invinted, and why better and better ones keep coming along.

  49. That’s a creative answer to a difficult question

  50. That’s an astute answer to a tricky question

  51. I would just like to say that the primary reason that MySpace sucks is because it allows so much absolutely abyssmal design and content, and the music playing thing.Otherwise, these people could setup blogs of their own on any of the zillions of other blog sites. But they can’t make their pages look nearly as AWFUL as they do on myspace.

  52. Your articles are for when it absolutely, positively, needs to be understood overnight.

  53. I can’t believe you’re not playing with me–that was so helpful.

  54. Wow! Great to find a post knocking my socks off!

  56. LOL – I think you might be on to something here!We paid $185 a week for daycare when our youngest was an infant, but that was only for a few months (until I quit my job to be a stay-at-home dad). Now she’s in preschool, and like daycare you pay for the space not the attendance. Sick days, vacation, doesn’t matter. Plus the preschool (which is private) closes whenever the public schools close, so we lose more days there too.I know that’s just the way it is, but it still hurts to “waste” the money.

  57. With the bases loaded you struck us out with that answer!

  58. I could watch Schindler’s List and still be happy after reading this.

  59. A wonderful job. Super helpful information.

  60. Though spare time is probably non-existent for you both, I recommend the book: Mother Nature: Maternal Instincts and How They Shape the Human Species by Sarah Blaffer Hrdy. She has a whole chapter on “The Milky Way”, intriguing stuff. You and Jenn might particularly enjoy it after your grand efforts.

  61. You Sir/Madam are the enemy of confusion everywhere!

  62. Hey, killer job on that one you guys!

  63. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something informative to read?

  64. Great post. I used to be checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Extremely useful information specifically the ultimate phase I take care of such info a lot. I used to be looking for this certain info for a very long time. Thank you and best of luck.

  75. Excellent blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Bless you!

  76. It’s a joy to find someone who can think like that

  77. You Sir/Madam are the enemy of confusion everywhere!

  79. Thanks for sharing. What a pleasure to read!

  80. Excellent tips and overall message, Chandlee! Definitely, employers “are still looking for hires in December!” The economy, and business, doesn’t suddenly grind to a halt because there are holidays. Your point about companies having motivation to hire before Dec. 31 (because of fiscal year schedules) also resonates. Bottom line, NOW is a good time to maintain job-search motivation and traction! Cheers – and thanks for the pragmatic, energizing post! Jacqui

  81. So excited I found this article as it made things much quicker!

  82. Me and this article, sitting in a tree, L-E-A-R-N-I-N-G!

  83. That’s a smart way of thinking about it.

  84. This information is off the hizool!

  85. that I dont want to be rich and have all the headaches that come with it. The rich have major problems we middle class dont have. First, how to acquire riches, then how to keep them, how to guard them, how to use them, etc. Weve always earned enough to raise six children, have a decent roof over our heads, enough food on the table and decent clothing to wear. Also, enough after the children were grown and gone to put away/invest for retirement. We are living comfortable, not extravagantly now in retirement.

  86. Articles like this make life so much simpler.

  87. That’s more than sensible! That’s a great post!

  88. And I thought I was the sensible one. Thanks for setting me straight.

  90. A bit surprised it seems to simple and yet useful.

  91. That’s really thinking at a high level

  92. How could any of this be better stated? It couldn’t.

  93. Taking the overview, this post is first class

  94. A simple and intelligent point, well made. Thanks!

  95. I do love the way you have presented this specific situation and it does give us some fodder for consideration. On the other hand, because of what precisely I have witnessed, I simply just hope when the feedback pack on that folks keep on issue and not get started upon a soap box associated with some other news of the day. Still, thank you for this exceptional point and though I do not agree with the idea in totality, I regard the viewpoint.

  96. At last! Someone who understands! Thanks for posting!

  97. If my problem was a Death Star, this article is a photon torpedo.

  98. That’s 2 clever by half and 2×2 clever 4 me. Thanks!

  100. That’s going to make things a lot easier from here on out.

  101. Clear, informative, simple. Could I send you some e-hugs?

  102. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  103. Greetings from Florida! I’m bored at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the information you provide here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, good blog!

  104. I walked into a bar a few months ago with my sister and a friend and as we were getting our ids checked I looked up and realized that the upper portions of the walls were covered with Confederate flags. It was mighty uncomfortable to have to wait for them to finish looking at my friend’s id to turn around and leave because the guy checking was blocking the door.I can’t say I understand it because last I checked, Pennsylvania never wanted to secede.

  105. Whoever wrote this, you know how to make a good article.

  106. This “free sharing” of information seems too good to be true. Like communism.

  107. – Bunn Salarzon Photography, hands down is one of the best! She has a very creative and playful imagination, and made our session very fun and personable! She understood how we wanted our photos to come out, the lighting was great and she seemed to capture all the right moments… When something went wrong, she went above and beyond to make it better, matter of fact; we enjoyed working with her so much that we’ve asked her to be our wedding photographer as well! Can’t wait to work with you again! Thanks for the great memories! :)

  108. Well I guess I don’t have to spend the weekend figuring this one out!

  109. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. Nevertheless think of if you added some great images or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this website could definitely be one of the best in its field. Very good blog!

  114. Dear Ru-Ling Gi:I am so proud of America. It is a tremendous day for America. The most important thing is that Obama doesn’t get there because of his skin colour. it is because he is intelligent, smart and international. And the lousy Bush administration. I, personally believe, is the most important factor. No one can stand another Republican government. The world cannot stand it either. The world has high hope for Obama.I never thought that I would see a black American President in my lifetime. It can only be happened in America.Thank you for sharing this wonderful comments. God Bless America. This is indeed the proudest moment for America.Ping

  138. I much enjoyed the read….made me feel somewhat better that there are a number of people out there that are aware of the barrage of talentless, well, douchebags, for lack of a better word. Also….mucho points for calling out Dane Cook. I am so sick and tired of people saying how hilarious he is, when every time I would see his tour advertised I would literally feel sick to my stomach. The frat-boy picture that you painted is a perfect depiction of what his “comdey” is. take care

  145. Hi Bill,We used to run through the mill in Oquitoa as children when we visited my great aunt Romansita Sotelo de Ortiz. Her house was about a block from the mill. She was my grandmother’s sister. My grandfather and grandmother (Francisco Quiroz and Rosa Sotelo moved from Caborca to Arizona in 1912. Many of their siblings remained in Alamos, Caborca, Hermosillo and Oquitoa… The mill looks about the same as I recall from the early 1960′s.Thanks,Robert

  325. We have that program here, too.Safe Haven babies fall into an entirely different category. They can\\’t access their information because there is none. That\\’s vastly different from hiding information from someone when it does exist and while it\\’s unfortunate that babies are abandoned at all, it\\’s programs like those that save lives so I would never advocate that women must give their info when leaving their babies at a fire station or hospital et al. Yes, it\\’s not in keeping with my argument that adoptees have rights but as noted, it\\’s also not the same type of situation.

Just finished my ’08 tax return and received an e-filing error for not claiming the $1,200 REBATE (married filing joint) under “2008 Recovery Rebate Credit – TAX [stimulus] REBATE”. Then our refund was exactly $1,200 less when I fixed the error, so essentially; last year we spent part of our OWN upcoming ’08 tax refund instead of saving it. So I suppose those who usually PAY taxes with their return will now also be paying back the ’08 “stimulus” as well??

  421. Hi George! I totally agree with what you´re saying here. The more “newbies” out there, the more products on “how get rich quick” the “oldies” can sell to them, right? In my online life, I´ve come across quite a few “experienced” marketers who claim to know their stuff. But the IM-world is VAST, so how could one person know everything? They don´t. Many of these “experts” have very limited knowledge and often give wrong advice about methods etc. I think that the real key to success in IM is honesty, dedication and focus on your path. Like any proper business, really. Have a nice weekend, Kourosh

1052. I hate to say this, but this is the kind of stream of conscious (sorry for the comparison Mr. Joyce) regurgitation that will only energize the (unfortunately) millions of brain dead Americans who identify with Palin. It's the fact that they can't comprehend what she's saying (who can? Paging Dr. Leary…) that makes them assured she is their messiah in these dark times of "liberalism" (I don't know what it is with these side notes, it's not usually my shtick, but onto my main point of this aside, this is liberalism??) Anyway, I hope I'm being paranoid (as usual), but these goofballs fucking scare me sometimes.

1070. If you select your soft body tags for your main shapes as well as the rigid ones for the balls inside, you can bake the dynamics in the ‘cache’ tab. If you make changes after the bake, clear the cache to avoid problems. I was getting different/wrong output renders than my preview renders. i.e. inner glass not staying meshed to it’s object. This solved it. My only real lingering issue (besides mimicking that awesome glass texture Nick is rocking) is that my floor keeps eating my outer balls, and I can’t bake the rigid body tag on my plane because I just turn it’s dynamics off for it to work correctly.

1071. Hats off to whoever wrote this up and posted it.

1088. Thanks for the quick tip… It may be old, but it’s still good! Quick question. If you apply a striped material like this one to, for example, a spline with Extrude Nurbs & a fillet cap, Cinema will repeat the stripes on the fillet (with UVW mapping, any other sort of mapping didn’t work for me).Was able to solve this by making the object editable — selecting the sides & applying the material only to that selection. But I was wondering if there isn’t a quicker way around this. Many thanks in advance & keep up the amazing work!Cheers, Wim

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

1160. This is Jack Longmate writing in response to Maureen Basedow’s comment of 23 August 2010: About a “grand gesture,” Campus Equity Week/Fair Employment Week, in place since 2001, is observed during the last week of October in the odd years (2007, 2009, 2011, etc.) and is intended to be exactly that. The need to invigorate Campus Equity Week came up at COCAL. Auturo Perez from Mexico City proposed recognizing it.There certainly is a need for that–very rarely in the treatment of U.S. Higher Education is contingency status of the majority of its faculty mentioned, much less recognized as a serious issue affecting the wellbeing of the country.Sincerely yours,Jack Longmate (jacklongmate@comcast.net)
