  1. Gosh, I wish I would have had that information earlier!

  2. Just astounded at how you discovered your adoption. An old friend of mine discovered his adoption under inauspicious circumstances – stranger than fiction – and I remember well his utter shock.I also remember the secrecy surrounding adoption when I was growing up. It was so confusing to me then; I never understood why anyone felt as if it should be kept under wraps.

  3. I’m shocked that I found this info so easily.

  4. Articles like this make life so much simpler.

  5. That’s cleared my thoughts. Thanks for contributing.

  6. The voice of rationality! Good to hear from you.

  7. I can’t believe I’ve been going for years without knowing that.

  8. In awe of that answer! Really cool!

  9. One of my favorite things about Canadian artists is that the loyalty of those in their home country usually ensures that they’ll be able to continue making music — even if they’re not big in America. If it weren’t for the massive Canadian fan-base, Our Lady Peace probably would’ve been forced to fold years ago, and that would’ve pissed me off.

  11. Your thinking matches mine – great minds think alike!

  12. Vermillion- I have a hell of a sense of humor and find a lot things funny that are pretty awful. But to go after a child is pretty gutless. I happen to be a father and once my daughter was born, I changed. He has the right to say whatever he wants. I’m not saying he doesn’t. I just feel kids with horrible diseases and their poor parents who didn’t ask for this to happen to their child, is wrong.

  13. This switch works perfectly. I have a Nintendo Wii and Sony PS2 hooked up to a big screen TV. And my kids (8yo & 5yo) can work it to switch up which game system they want to play with. And I even still have an “open” line in for a future device.I would recommend this if you need to do something similar.

  14. I guess this is great for people who might not pay for their insurance, but just because birth control is going to be ‘free’ doesn’t mean insurance won’t go up. It’s probably going to skyrocket after all of this goes down. I would rather pay the $9 a month for a pack of birth control than pay however much insurance would go up…

  15. How could any of this be better stated? It couldn’t.

  16. Me too, exactly as you say! Its painful isn’t it? And I disagree that you can do some of that stuff now…its not the same when the family is waiting home for you. BUT…I suspect we will have more freedom than we know what to do with when the kids hit their teens, and though we would look silly screaming out the car window, we will probably rejoice in our freedom in another, equally satisfying way. This tough routine of diapers and itsy bitsy spider and math homework will taper off and then, its a whole new ballgame.

  17. I’ve often wondered why my daughter’s BFF, who is Jewish, hasn’t totally spilled the beans before now. I know she knows the truth. I suspect her mom had a similar talk with her, for which I’m most grateful. Thanks for keeping the magic alive :) And I say that while knowing that I talked a lot about regretting the whole thing in my post. (It’s an odd place to be…loving and wanting to keep the magic of the Santa-based Christmas intact and at the same time, feeling terrible about all of it).

  18. Super jazzed about getting that know-how.

  19. All of my questions settled-thanks!

  21. , a cell phone. The only thing I need out of my cell phone is the ability to call someone and have it sound good enough to at least be able to decipher. Not that I don’t like all the gadgets and such in the iPhone, it just isn’t necessary. And on a separate note, it was quite coincidental that you got the KRZR. I’ve been really considering it since my phone has gone to hell and back. Is it any good?

  22. Well I guess I don’t have to spend the weekend figuring this one out!

  26. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  29. Surprisingly well-written and informative for a free online article.

The fact that he’s not a guy with a history of liking Linux much makes it resonate all the more. I hope others feel the same. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of him but I don’t dislike him either, I’m mostly indifferent. He’s been in this business a long time though, he’s been successful and he must know what he’s doing.

  39. Thanks for your reply. One other thing might be related to my res prob. My monitor is not detected, before nor after the installation of the recommended nvidia driver. It’s not connected through a KVM switch or anything. Could that be it? And of course, what is the solution? In some reviews I read about comparable res probs after installation of various distros, but usually it’s just a setting change that resolves it. Well. Getting a new top solves it maybe, then my old desktop can keep on grinding away on XP (2-3 minutes shutdown time is a lot when you’re in a hurry…). Again, thanks Dan and other ppl for any suggestions.Arjen.

  50. Ottimo articolo, condivido in pieno.

When learning math (which I actually suck at), I noticed people responded to it in a negative way while language learners got praise immediately. Why would you want to connect to other people on “intellectual level”? Just connect to books on intellectual level and keep the connections with people on the “silly, fun, do idiot stuff” level./me bookmarks this website.

  61. This posting knocked my socks off

  62. Shoot, who would have thought that it was that easy?

  63. BS low – rationality high! Really good answer!

  64. The American public must realize the difference between wedge/distraction issues promoted by the loudest and flashiest personalities on t.v/radio, and issues that effect their wallets. Most Americans are fed up, they are just so distracted with so many different issues (the three G’s come to mind) that they can’t see their pockets being picked and the American dream being stolen away from them.Average Americans will unify when their quality of life gets so poor that they have no other choice except to focus on a singular goal. Survival.

  65. , our crazies don't tend to stay in the party for long. McKinney's antisemitic (and pro-Islam) stance didn't do her any favors even here in GA. If you're in favor of the political process doing what it's theoretically supposed to do, then in McKinney's case it certainly did.Amusingly, according to McKinney's Wikipedia entry, Sarasota, FL has given her the keys to the city and April 8 was named her day. Huzzah!

  66. IMHO you’ve got the right answer!

  67. Hot damn, looking pretty useful buddy.

74. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any ways to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.

  75. Great I should definitely pronounce, impressed with your web site. I had no trouble navigating through all the tabs as well as related information ended up being truly simple to do to access. I recently found what I hoped for before you know it at all. Quite unusual. 76. The answer of an expert. Good to hear from you.

  77. Uh, good advise on the Nvidia drivers blacklisting.Putting in my GTS 250 was a breeze, once I knew how. Download the drivers at Nvidia, put in directory, drop out of X windows (I just went to Grub repair menu at boot). At the command line:1. telinit 32. find you directory containing Nvidia driver3. sudo sh (type the 1st few unique letters, hit Tab key to auto complete the name–it’s loooong)4.follow the menus during driver install. Easy. This is the direct way. Beats depending on panels and someone’s guessing which driver is right for your card.Nvidia’s driver download site has easy drop down menus to guide you to your driver.Easy.

  80. For most of you, the good thing about the south is we have managed to keep all the racist, toothless, bigots, in our region. Because of our efforts, racism doesn’t exist north of the Mason Dixon, or west of an imaginary line that may or may not include Texas. If you are married to someone who isn’t a redneck, then you probably should stay away from the south, for it would only be a short time before the men in white sheets marched through your lawn with crosses a blazin.Uh, are you people really as shallow as these responses indicate?

  81. Yours is a clever way of thinking about it.

  82. Most help articles on the web are inaccurate or incoherent. Not this!

  88. This piece was cogent, well-written, and pithy.

  89. So I started thinking it’d be interesting to see which of two tied teams fared better towards the end of the season, with the idea that it’d be more indicative of their current strength. That seems problematical though since strength of schedule could change radically when you start weighting games or dropping early games. But then I realized I have no idea whether my assumption that teams that finish the regular season strong do better in the playoffs is true. I’m sure somebody has studied it, but I don’t recall ever reading anything about it. It’d be interesting to see whether a stronger/weaker SOS at the end of a season has any significance too.

  91. Thanks for being on point and on target!

111. Your’s is a point of view where real intelligence shines through.

  112. I could not agree more. What’s the big deal? Members of Congress can pass crappy legislation to their hearts’ content, laws to further fill the pockets of the rich and to neglect the sick, poor, and needy, no problem, but post a shot of themselves posing shirtless–scandal! I don’t get it. It’s not porn, for Christ’s sake. Did somebody pass a law against pecs I didn’t hear about? Thank you for this post. Your blog is an oasis!

  113. Deep thinking – adds a new dimension to it all.

  116. My oldest son Clark is just two weeks older than Trixie and I found your site back in the early days when little Trixie and Clark were only a few months old. I have checked in almost daily since and enjoyed the site immensely. Thanks for all your insight, for willingly sharing your lives with all of us, and most of all — for all the laughs!Best of luck!

  118. Finally! This is just what I was looking for.

  119. My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on several websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  120. You are so awesome for helping me solve this mystery.

  121. that, I appologize, because I do not give credence to your entire idea, all be it refreshing none the less. It would seem to everybody that your commentary are not completely validated and in actuality you are generally yourself not really totally convinced of the argument. In any event I did take pleasure in looking at it.

  128. That’s a genuinely impressive answer.

  129. Fell out of bed feeling down. This has brightened my day!

  130. Whoa, whoa, get out the way with that good information.

  131. A wonderful job. Super helpful information.

  132. (and I am a liberal) I think the military and justice are firmly in the Governments purview. I also think they need to be strongly regulated. A view I think is pretty consistent with what I believe needs to happen economically. Deregulation has been responsible for many of the woes we are currently suffering through, and yet the Right wants to further emasculate regulation (and the Dems only half heartedly push for regulation of most industries.)

  133. I’m impressed by your writing. Are you a professional or just very knowledgeable?

  134. Just the type of insight we need to fire up the debate.

  135. More than likely you haven’t got to know any of us.

  137. What a pleasure to find someone who identifies the issues so clearly

  138. Thanks for the various tips contributed on this blog site. I have realized that many insurance firms offer customers generous discount rates if they elect to insure multiple cars together. A significant variety of households have several cars or trucks these days, in particular those with old teenage children still located at home, and also the savings with policies may soon increase. So it will pay to look for a good deal.

  139. That’s a knowing answer to a difficult question

  148. That was so exciting! It was quite an event over at our house. The whole countdown suspense was killing me. They could have used a little less deer with its poor head stuck through things and a little bit more super cute Trixie action. Oscar is worried that now that Trixie is famous she’s going to go for the celebrity babies, you know the Pilot Inspektor types, and he won’t stand a chance.

  177. I think your story is just more proof that Free Range parenting works! Your child got hurt, yes, but he did exactly what he was supposed to do – he found a trustworthy adult and got the help he needed. When we were kids, we didn’t need to be looked after every minute because our parents trusted the community to help us if we needed helping. The community is even more trustworthy than it was in the 80s! Crime rates are down everywhere. The world is as safe now as it was 50 years ago, if not safer. I say let the kids play.

  178. Kick the tires and light the fires, problem officially solved!

  179. Aren’t you being a little…dramatic? As a 23 year old who looks beyond the radio and MTV to find good music, I learned long ago that I wasn’t even close to being the target audience of “American Idol”, and subsequently quit caring. Let the kiddies have their lame little pop idols. One day a certain percentage of them will grow up and see there’s more outside of what Clear Channel deems culturally relevant. The rest…well, they can stay in the clubs grinding on each other to the newest T-Pain record all they want. That just means there will be less of them annoying the crap out of me at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs show.

  460. This is what we need – an insight to make everyone think

  461. Woot, I will certainly put this to good use!

  462. Volunteer at a community theatre. Such theatres are always in need of people to help out with set construction, finding props, sewing costumes, ushering, selling concessions, and working backstage as dressers, stagehands, props crew, light board/spotlight operators, or sound operators. If you have no experience with any of those things, they will welcome you with open arms and train you. You'll have fun, make lots of friends of all ages, and find plenty of opportunities to socialize (cast parties, tech and strike dinners, after-show excursions to the local hangouts, and so forth). My theatre is holding a volunteer appreciation luau next weekend, and I already have my Hawaiian shirt picked out! (I'm 52 years old.)

  463. What liberating knowledge. Give me liberty or give me death.

  464. It’s a pleasure to find such rationality in an answer. Welcome to the debate.

  465. One or two to remember, that is.

  466. Thinking like that shows an expert’s touch

  467. That’s an inventive answer to an interesting question

  468. I’d have to agree with you there. Everyone is NOT the same. I have traveled all over Europe and can definitely tell you that people are different from country to country, as well as from town to town. My parents are from a small shepherding village, but a bustling seaside modern city is just 40 minutes away. The people there have a VERY different mentality. It is a matter of your history, but it is also a matter of nurture. The people who say that everyone is the same, probably haven’t had a wide enough spectrum of comparison.

  469. Keep these articles coming as they’ve opened many new doors for me.

  475. Shiver me timbers, them’s some great information.

  476. Would you mind if I refer to a few of your current content articles given that I provide credit and furthermore article sources returning to your web sites? My web blog is in the exact same niche as yours and my site visitors would certainly make full use of most of the strategies and information you provide in this article. Please inform me if it is okay for you. Thank you!

  477. The accident of finding this post has brightened my day

  478. I really needed to find this info, thank God!

  479. I’m impressed by your writing. Are you a professional or just very knowledgeable?

  480. I’m impressed by your writing. Are you a professional or just very knowledgeable?

  499. An answer from an expert! Thanks for contributing.

  500. Which came first, the problem or the solution? Luckily it doesn’t matter.

  501. Thanks a ton for your post. I would like to say that the price of car insurance differs a lot from one scheme to another, for the reason that there are so many different facets which bring about the overall cost. For example, the brand name of the auto will have a huge bearing on the price tag. A reliable aged family automobile will have a more economical premium than just a flashy racecar.

  502. Your cranium must be protecting some very valuable brains.

  503. I was struck by the honesty of your posting

  504. That’s a mold-breaker. Great thinking!

  514. That kind of thinking shows you’re on top of your game

  515. Alright alright alright that’s exactly what I needed!

  516. A perfect reply! Thanks for taking the trouble.

  517. Of the panoply of website I’ve pored over this has the most veracity.

  518. Fiber makes us feel full sooner and stays in our stocamh longer than other substances we eat, inhibiting our rate of digestion and keeping us feeling full longer. Due to its significantly larger fiber content, a single serving of wholegrain bread can be more filling than two servings of white bread. Fiber also moves fat through our digestive system faster so that less of it is absorbed.

  519. It was dark when I woke. This is a ray of sunshine.

  520. Perfect shot! Thanks for your post!

  521. Whether I’ve been single or coupled. I’ve always enjoyed the non-traditional Valentines’ events more than any attempt at romance on this over-commercialized, high pressure day. Watching movies with my girlfriends, sharing treats with people at work. It’s also just a good time to practice acts of kindness. This year V-day comes close to Purim, a Jewish holiday which is kind of like reverse-Halloween (you dress up in costumes and go door-to-door bringing other people sweets). So instead of valentines, I’m going to send out Purim treats (some of which are donations to a food bank) and make people smile.

  522. Help, I’ve been informed and I can’t become ignorant.

  523. Kudos! What a neat way of thinking about it.

  524. We could’ve done with that insight early on.

You really are all so sweet as well as thoughtful of others in addition to the fact that reading your site posts is a great delight in my experience. And thats a generous surprise! Dan and I really have enjoyment making use of your suggestions in what we need to do in the near future. Our list is a distance long which means your tips will be put to good use.

  544. Hi George,Very interesting and comprehensive course! I like that you mentioned that 78% small businesses fail. Online, we usually see the inflated rate of 90% or more, which I haven’t been able to source out anywhere. It’s a self-propagating online myth, I believe. A hazard of online’s open speech…But you used a more accurate smaller amount, in the face of which people are less scared of attempting an online business. And this course seems to cover all of the aspects of succeeding. With the right attitude, someone can really make it with Lisa’s course and coaching. Sounds very much like IBCX…hope to see you around there soon!Louise

  545. Hey, that’s powerful. Thanks for the news.

  546. With the bases loaded you struck us out with that answer!

  590. Mr. Flint,I am thoroughly enjoying your “163X” series! I’m trying to find them all in hardcover, though. Did “Grantville Gazette” ever come out in HC? What about “1635: The Tangled Web”? (I’ve found that one (Tangled) in trade paperback, which is acceptable….for now….)Using your list to read them in more-or-less “timeline order”.Thanks for all you’ve given us!

  598. I just bought a new computer and would like the same settings I have on my other computer. How do I go about doing this? The one thing I want to change in firefox on my new computer is when I type a website in the address bar I would like it to show my history instead of my bookmarks. I changed it before but I can’t remember what I did..

  599. I came, I read this article, I conquered.

  600. Well done to think of something like that

  601. I went to tons of links before this, what was I thinking?

  602. Beatrix is a gorgeous name. I like Trixie, but I hope she will be Beatrix when she’s older. I also associate Trixie with the Trixie Belden girl detective series. And Jenn and Ben, you can’t possible worry about Trixie when Gwyneth Paltrow is out their naming her kid Apple. I mean, come on.

  614. Clear, informative, simple. Could I send you some e-hugs?

  615. Another thing I have really noticed is for many people, below-average credit is the reaction of circumstances beyond their control. One example is they may are already saddled by having an illness so that they have high bills going to collections. It could be due to a occupation loss or maybe the inability to do the job. Sometimes divorce proceedings can send the budget in a downward direction. Thank you for sharing your thinking on this web site.

  676. Together with everything which appears to be developing within this particular subject matter, a significant percentage of opinions are generally relatively radical. On the other hand, I beg your pardon, but I can not subscribe to your whole idea, all be it radical none the less. It appears to me that your commentary are actually not totally rationalized and in actuality you are generally your self not really totally certain of the argument. In any event I did appreciate examining it.

  685. I cannot tell a lie, that really helped.

  686. Yes it doesnt but that wasnt an argument in favour of miscegenation laws, and nor is it an argument against re-defining marriage to allow for same sex unions to be classed as marriage. Again, I understand the appeal of such comparisons – oh to be able to elevate your cause to the same moral status as opposition to racism! But the trick doesnt work.

  687. You’re on top of the game. Thanks for sharing.

I actually dated a guy who thought it was funny to make a joke about being in 6th grade when a song I loved in high school came on the radio. Not cute. 1075.

1103. So that’s the case? Quite a revelation that is.

1104. Son of a gun, this is so helpful!

1105. Holy concise data batman. Lol!

1106. Chez, I'm not sure I could endure what you've got to go through being separated from Inara for months at a time. Hell, due to my job I have to be away from my one-year-old, but never for more than three or four days at a time, and I'm often a wreck at the end of the day because of it.On top of that, Eddie Vedder is one of the few people who's songs have the ability to make me cry like a baby. Beautiful, if gut-wrenching.We do what we must for our children. Hang in there. She knows she is loved.

1107. The subsequent time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to read, however I actually thought youd have something fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you possibly can repair when you werent too busy looking for attention.

1108. I’m not quite sure how to say this; you made it extremely easy for me!

1109. Superb information here, ol’e chap; keep burning the midnight oil.

1118. What I find so interesting is you could never find this anywhere else.

1119. That’s a brilliant answer to an interesting question

1121. I was drawn by the honesty of what you write

1122. Super excited to see more of this kind of stuff online.

1123. That’s a crackerjack answer to an interesting question

1132. AFAIC that’s the best answer so far!

1133. I do love the way you have presented this matter plus it does provide us a lot of fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, from what precisely I have observed, I simply trust when the actual commentary pack on that individuals continue to be on point and in no way get started upon a tirade involving some other news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this superb point and whilst I can not really go along with the idea in totality, I respect the perspective.

1134. That’s a smart way of thinking about it.

1135. What a joy to find such clear thinking. Thanks for posting!

1147. These pieces really set a standard in the industry.

1148. If information were soccer, this would be a goooooal!

1149. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

1150. To note a passing that will be less noticed one of the last links to Hollywood silent films, and a centenarian actor to boot, died this week Dorothy Janis, who turned 100 last month. She is best (only?) know for her role as Tito, Ramon Novarro half-white love interest in The Pagan (W.S. Van Dyke/1929), one of the last silent films. She did not survive sound; she was in her late teens when she made this (she was very pretty, although not remotely exotic looking. She retired shortly after, married bandleader Wayne King, whom she survived after he died after 52 years of marriage.

1151. I love publishing your comments John; you always manage to make youself look like more of an idiot than I ever could.Look dingbat — I have a life, and no responsibilty whatsoever to keep you entertained and/or educated.Don’t like it? Tough shit. I notice you’re really taking bold steps to make the world a better place. Now run along. Let the big kids do the thinking.

1152. That saves me. Thanks for being so sensible!

1153. Personally, I think Luang Prabang is one of the most endearing and lovely places on earth. I loved my time there. Visited some 18 temples, and, yes, they have magnificent ones. But it’s the people, their sweet smiles, generous nature, strong faith and hard working attitude I recall most fondly. Yes, I too went to the market and it was “an experience.” Far too few travelers go into the heart of a city and try to experience a taste of what the locals see and do every day. You are too be commended…. You’ve made my day — as I dig out the photos and recall the memories. Travel is such an invigorating experience. Happy travels!

1154. It’s a pleasure to find someone who can identify the issues so clearly
